A Little Pep Rally Fun at Ivy League

Ivy League centers itself around not only academics but a close-knit community as well. We like to incorporate exciting elements into our students’ school days, and every once in a while… well, we love to have some good ol’ fun! At Ivy League believe in not just teaching to the student, but teaching to the whole child. We know how much children love to have fun, especially with their teachers beside them!

This past Friday, Ivy League hosted its first-ever school-wide pep rally for our Glow Run coming up on Friday, October 11, 2019. Our pep rally was set up by our physical education teacher, Ms. Juliette Polis.

Ms. Polis planned an exciting and fun afternoon to get students excited about the upcoming Glow Run.  Students competed in a hula hoop relay, where they had to hold hands and pass a hula hoop through them without breaking the chain.  Students also “mummified” each other with toilet paper.

Teachers and students were able to participate in a game of “Knockout” where they competed to be the first to score in the basketball hoop.  Last but not least and definitely the students’ favorite, teachers participated in a friendly game of dodgeball! The gym erupted with laughter and cheering once the teachers began to verse each other.

After all of the excitement diminished, students signed their names on a large banner that participants will run through to kick off the Glow Run on Friday evening.

Let’s hit our goal for more Fun!

Ivy League had a goal to fundraise $10,000 for our Glow Run. As of Friday, October 4, we had raised 80% of our goal. If we can raise $10,000 by Friday, Mr. Colon has agreed to participate in the Principal’s Challenge! If we reach our goal, Mr. Colon will be duck-taped to the gym wall!

Be sure to join us for the first PTO Glow Run this Friday, October 11, 2019! It is sure to be a great time!
