Over the past week, we have had Field Day, The Annual Talent Show, the Middle School Canoe Trip and next week is graduations and the Ivy League Award Ceremony. All these special events can only mean one thing; the end of the year is actually here!
Let’s start with field day. Ms. Juliette Polis did an incredible job organizing the special events for preschoolers and our older students. On Wednesday and Thursday, families were invited to join their Ivy Leaguer for a day of green and white team sports! Even the teachers joined in with the elementary kids and versed the kids in a tug of war, the kids won by a land slide! Middle school teachers were targets for water balloons! Days like these always bring our school community together where we can laugh and play together.
On Friday, Miss Myrna hosted our annual Talent Show. The show was stocked full of our talented kindergarteners through 8th graders. To see so many of our students so comfortable with themselves, their peers and their teachers that they are able to get on stage either solo or with a friend or two and perform is remarkable. Act after act they did not disappoint the audience. A special thanks to Mr. McCabe and his son for doing sound!
This morning our middle schoolers were off to canoe down the Nissequogue River. The trip launches from the docks across from the infamous Smithtown Bull. It ends across from Short Beach in Nissequogue. Students look forward to this trip every year. What could be better than rowing down a river with your best friends, teachers and laughing the whole way!
A Farewell to All Graduates!
Next week, we say goodbye to many of our beloved students as they graduate and move on to new schools. We wish them all nothing but the absolute best in all they do. It has been a pleasure being a part of their academic careers.
